The point of view
Come for the recipe. Leave with a sense of place.
Mixing with Will is a personal notebook for following drinks back to their first lives. Where did the aperitif begin? Why did one spirit become the house pour? What does a glass of wine borrow from a cocktail, and what does a cocktail borrow from a room?
The answers are rarely tidy. A classic crosses borders, changes names, gets misremembered, and still arrives at the bar carrying a little of every place it has been. That messy, human trail is the good part.
Expect notes on different spirits, different styles, and the atmospheres that bring them into focus—from a quiet restaurant with linen on the table to a dive bar that knows exactly when to leave the lights low.
